It appears that books are one of the few consumer products that weren’t severely impacted during the current economic downturn. And, there’s good reason for that.
People tend to be able to justify the expense of a new book because it’s something that can not only bring many hours of enjoyment for a relatively low cost, but it can be saved for future reference, shared with friends, and even reread in its entirety.
Of course, we always recommend use of a library first – but don’t hesitate to buy that new book if the library can’t fulfill your needs. You’re not likely to regret it.
